So excited at the thought of the new material

Author Message Date Posted
kev hickey I very rairly buy cds but a couple of years ago i decided to to HMV and after a browse I decided to take a risk and buy a couple of cd's by people ive never heard of. The 1st was by craig armstrong, which i loved and have since got all his albums, and the other was 1giant leap, which blew me away.
I then rented a copy of the DVD which I expected to be a making of the album kind of thing, I sat and started watching it with my landlord. After the 1st few tracks he stopped the dvd so we could go to the shops and get a surround sound system for the dvd player. It was that good.

Last year I was lucky enough to go to the live 8 gig in Edinburgh. The morning of the gig i read the (almost) full line up in the local paper. but there were still a few gaps.

I remember watching the stage and realising that 1giant leap were coming on, and then went on to perform with will young, maxi jazz, nenah cherry and the mahotella queens. I almost exploded with excitement, while most people around me sat down as it was the first band on stage they hadn’t heard of.

So now I am despirate to hear the new album and watch the new dvd, so I can be blown away all over again (no pressure guys) so when is the new material coming out?

Brian Svedberg You have one cool landlord. That is an awesome story. 11/1/2007 02:42
Edward Scott that is an awesome story. thanks for sharing. 11/1/2007 05:27
Ron Hudson Yeah! I am my own landlord and I am not THAT good to myself! I wish I had been! Great story! 11/1/2007 12:58
Jamie Catto Hi Kev, thanks for that, how cool...
we're nearly done (hahahahahahaha) no we are, really
we're simultaneously finishing a 12 part TV Series of the Project weaving the New Chapters with the story of us doing it, the Movie Version of the Chapters and of course, the CD and DVD shapes - all for Spring so we can get out of the Studio and off into Europe for as many gigs and screenings as we can fit in over the Summer. There's a rough trailer on www.1GL19.com but that looks pretty old to me now
thanks for writing
Jamie x

Brian Svedberg So, Jamie...is 'The Making Of..." going to be a six hour deal this time around? That's pretty sweet, getting T.V. time and all. 11/1/2007 16:44
jody k hey! anyone want to move in here? i'd be a good landlord and there is 5.1 dig surround sound already installed!
LOL

jody k Just Europe for concerts and screenings? :(

Paul Smith Wow indeed, how exciting, both for us, and for you, Jamie! I can see doing Europe first, as that's probably where this would be first most widely received, building it there, then spilling over into America once it's a "thing" over the pond. But hmm, is that really the case? There seems to be quite a lot of Americans on the board here, there does seem to be an interest already built in. But then taking a large band touring does cost a lot. Ok, enough thinking aloud, it will be a treat to see all this rolling out. Hey, once you know your tour schedule Jamie, perhaps Vanessa and I could coordinate a trip over to meet you somewhere along the line, make it one of our stops on my post graduation holiday, and break in my new iPhone :-) 13/1/2007 06:55
kev hickey I've emailed my old landlord to let him know how impressed you all are with him And im really glad to hear about the new material and the gigs.

I'm also really excited that Jamie Catto replied to my post.

Ian Gray At least now I'm beginning to understand why it has taken so long! A lot more work to get this one out than the first leap I'm guessing!

Wow - looking forward to it - dont get too scared if you have a couple of oversized aussie groupies following you around europe! ;-)

See you soon!
Ian

Tina A Oh Oh, count me in! im a groupie too from Asia! Hope you can have a show here as well... ;)

Mabuhay!

jody k Has the definition of groupie changed in the last 2 decades?
Just curious ....
17/1/2007 21:52
jody k And can Moose be groupies?
I'd love to see Obstreporous Moose come out to meet other Leap afficiionatoes.
(is afficiionato in the plural spelled with an 'es' on the end, like tomatoes)?
:)

17/1/2007 21:54
jody k and if the moose ever came out to meet with any boardies, how would we know him from any other moose? does he have a moosetache?
a newspaper under his antler?
Perhaps a flower in his... er, ah, on his, shoulder?
